YOUNG CODER (5-7 years old)

We are exciting to show you the coder from 5 years old to 7 years old!

CHAMPION

Elisabeth Schmid

6 years old

Our judges liked it in terms of creativity and presentation. Considering the kid is only 6 years old, being able to make animations with cute and playful elements is really impressive and makes it very appealing for young kid.

1ST RUNNER-UP

Ramesh a/l Subramaniam

5 years old

Our student from the centre, joined the competition and created this game using the skills learned during class. At only 5 years old, it's impressive how he applied what he learned to make fun animations and playful designs.

2ND RUNNER-UP

Yap Xin Tong

She created her own fashion game where players can change the girl's attire, with background music that makes it lively. A very impressive effort for her age, and it looks fun and cute for young kid.

JUNIOR CODER (8-11 years old)

We are exciting to show you the coder from 8 years old to 11 years old!

CHAMPION

Tan Li Wen

Our judges liked it in terms of theme and educational value. The student created three different games related to the environment, including one where players pick the correct rubbish. It's a fun and meaningful way to raise awareness about SDG 14: Life Below Water, reminding us to keep our oceans and environment clean

1ST RUNNER-UP

Clara Johanna Xin

The student created a parkour-style game with multiple levels, adding obstacles like lava and triangle spikes, plus a high-score system to make it even more competitive. It's exciting, creative, and gives players a fun challenge to overcome.

2ND RUNNER-UP

Rezz Ng Kar Shun

Our judges liked the storyline and animations. The project could be improved further by adding more details, making some parts link more smoothly, and refining the movements and backdrop to be smoother.

SENIOR CODER (12-15 years old)

We are exciting to show you the coder from 12 years old to 15 years old!

CHAMPION

Joshua Lim Ye Xing

Our judges liked it in terms of animation and technical skills. The project included animated backdrops, ghosts, cloud high-score and the use of 'define function' blocks, showing a strong understanding of Scratch commands and controls. The moving platform was a nice feature, though sometimes the character passed through it. Overall, it was a tough call between this project and the 1st runner-up when deciding the champion.

1ST RUNNER-UP

Muhammad Khalid Al-Walid Bin Zaidi

Our judges liked it in terms of creativity and educational value. The student created four different STEM-themed games, which is a bonus. The sound effects are good, though some parts had bugs that made the animations a bit jumpy and judge stucked moving. Overall, a very creative effort with strong potential

2ND RUNNER-UP

Ang Jie Li

Our judges liked it in terms of message and gameplay. The Road Safety Crossing game teaches players the importance of waiting for the right moment to cross, reminding us that accidents can happen if we're not paying attention. The added animations of the player moving are a nice bonus, making the game more lively while delivering a strong road safety message

About the Competition

The Scratch Coding Competition 2025 was organized in partnership with Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM), a prestigious public university in Malaysia. This exciting event invited young coders to showcase their creativity, problem-solving skills, and passion for programming using Scratch.
